Event: Suncoast 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament & 3-Point Competition, Saturday, January 9, 2027, Wa-Ke Hatchee Recreation Center, 16760 Bass Road, Fort Myers, FL 33908.
Eligibility
- Middle School: Every player must be enrolled in grade 6, 7, or 8 during the 2026–27 school year.
- High School: Every player must be enrolled in grade 9, 10, 11, or 12 during the 2026–27 school year.
- Adult Division (18+): Open to high school graduates and adults 18+. Players must be 18 or older on January 9, 2027 and may not be currently enrolled in high school.
Staff may ask for proof of age or grade at check-in. Ineligible players may not play.
Rosters & check-in
- Teams have 3 or 4 players. Ordinary eligible roster changes are allowed through January 2; after that, only staff-approved emergency replacements before the team begins pool play. Each replacement must complete their own waiver.
- Middle School teams must name one supervising adult for the team or a supervising parent/guardian for each player. Supervisors check in with the team and remain on-site while it participates.
- Every player needs a completed waiver before check-in: adults sign their own; each minor's waiver must be signed by that player's own parent or legal guardian. Players without a completed waiver cannot play.
Team composition & girls-only brackets
Our regular divisions welcome boys’/men’s teams, girls’/women’s teams, and mixed teams. All team compositions compete together within their eligible age or grade division. Separate girls-only youth brackets may be offered if sufficient teams register (six paid teams per division). Boys cannot enter a girls-only bracket. No team is moved between brackets without its agreement; if Suncoast cancels a conditional girls-only bracket, affected teams may accept a transfer to the regular bracket or receive a full refund. There are no separate adult men’s/women’s brackets.
Late registration
Standard registration ends January 2, 2027. Late registrations are subject to available space and T-shirt sizes. Day-of registration must be staff-approved and completed by the 8:00 AM check-in deadline.
Rules & changes
Games follow the posted Rules & Format. Tournament directors may adjust schedules, formats, or rules for safety or fairness and will announce changes at check-in or by email. Every team is guaranteed at least 4 games — 3 pool-play games plus at least 1 championship-bracket game. Additional games depend on advancement through the bracket.
Prizes
Middle School and High School (each division awarded separately):
- 1st: A custom-engraved 1st-place trophy for each rostered player and merchandise from event sponsors (awarded on-site after winners are determined).
- 2nd: A custom-engraved 2nd-place trophy for each rostered player and merchandise from event sponsors (awarded on-site after winners are determined).
Middle School and High School divisions do not award cash prizes. Eligible podium finishers and 3-Point Contest winners receive engraved trophies and sponsor merchandise as described in the applicable division prize section.
Adult Division (18+):
- 1st: $1,000 total for the winning team, a custom-engraved 1st-place trophy for each rostered player, and merchandise from event sponsors (awarded on-site after winners are determined)
- 2nd: $250 total for the runner-up team, a custom-engraved 2nd-place trophy for each rostered player, and merchandise from event sponsors (awarded on-site after winners are determined)
Adult Division cash prizes are fixed per-team totals — not per player — and do not change with the number of teams entered. Before any team cash prize is paid, the team must authorize one adult recipient and Suncoast 3-on-3 must record that recipient.
Same-day personalized trophies: engraved on site on tournament day. Staff confirm each player’s name and spelling before engraving.
