Questions

Frequently Asked

How many players can I have on my team?
+
Up to 4 players per team — 3 on the court plus 1 substitute. All players must be listed on the roster at registration.
What are the divisions?
+
Three divisions: Middle School, High School, and Adult Division (18+). Middle School = grades 6–8 and High School = grades 9–12 in the 2026–27 school year. Adult Division (18+) is open to high school graduates and adults 18+. Players must be 18 or older on January 9, 2027 and may not be currently enrolled in high school. Players must play in their eligible division; no exceptions.
Can we get a refund or transfer if our team can't make it?
+
No. Team registration is final and nonrefundable after payment, and team withdrawals and no-shows are not eligible for a transfer to a future event. If Suncoast 3-on-3 cancels the tournament, changes the date, cancels a division, or cancels a division's 3-Point Competition, the Registration & Refund Policy explains your refund options.
How much is registration?
+
Per team of 3–4 players — Middle & High School: $200 through Nov 10, 2026; $250 Nov 11–Jan 2; $350 Jan 3–8 (subject to space); $400 on Jan 9 (staff-approved openings only). Adult: $275 through Nov 10; $300 Nov 11–Jan 2; $350 Jan 3–8; $400 Jan 9. Example for a four-player youth team: $50 per player early, $62.50 standard. One captain registers and pays for the entire team. Standard registration ends January 2, 2027; limited late registration continues afterward. Late registrations are subject to available space and T-shirt sizes. 3-Point Contest: $10/player through Nov 10, then $15. No added processing fees.
How many games do I get?
+
Every team is guaranteed at least 4 games: 3 pool-play games plus at least 1 championship-bracket game.
What happens after pool play?
+
Every team advances to the championship bracket.
Is there a losers bracket?
+
No. The tournament uses a single-elimination championship bracket after pool play.
When is the 3-point competition?
+
The Suncoast 3-Point Challenge takes place after pool play and before championship-bracket play. It does not affect tournament standings.
When does the tournament start?
+
Team check-in begins at 7:00 AM and the first games begin at 9:00 AM.
Where is the tournament?
+
Wa-Ke Hatchee Recreation Center, 16760 Bass Road, Fort Myers, FL 33908.
What do winners receive?
+
1st and 2nd place: custom-engraved trophies for every rostered player + merchandise from event sponsors. There are no third-place awards. 3-Point winner: engraved trophy + merchandise from event sponsors.
Are food and drinks available?
+
Yes, for purchase. Breakfast Bros is available during the first part of the day, and concessions such as snacks, hot dogs, and pizza are available throughout the day (menu items subject to availability). Food is eaten in the designated concessions/seating room with tables and chairs — only water and Gatorade are allowed in the court area. Each player gets one bottled water in the check-in bag plus a ticket for one additional bottled water.
Is there a charge for spectators?
+
No. Spectator admission is free.
Can girls' teams or mixed teams play?
+
Yes. Our regular divisions welcome boys’/men’s teams, girls’/women’s teams, and mixed teams. All team compositions compete together within their eligible age or grade division. Separate girls-only youth brackets may be offered if sufficient teams register. Girls are always welcome on boys’ or mixed teams and may choose the regular bracket even if a girls-only bracket forms; boys cannot enter a girls-only bracket. Interest closes December 15, 2026 and we’ll email an update by December 18, 2026. Six paid teams are required to confirm a separate bracket; no team is moved between brackets without its agreement.
How are pool play, seeding, and the schedule set?
+
Pool play runs on four indoor and four outdoor half courts at the same time. Staff consider pool results and observed performance when assigning bracket seeds, using consistent, documented criteria. The schedule and preliminary assignments are published January 6 and may be updated for approved late entries, withdrawals, no-shows, and operational needs — affected teams are notified. Games start on 15-minute intervals (up to 10 minutes of play plus 5 minutes of changeover); extra time is built in between every game to absorb late starts, and games may begin early when both teams are ready. A team needs three eligible players ready within five minutes of the official start time or it forfeits that game.
Can we change our roster?
+
Ordinary eligible roster changes are allowed through January 2. After that, staff may approve emergency replacements — including at event-day check-in — before the team begins pool play. Replacements must be eligible and complete their own waiver before playing; replacement players receive their requested T-shirt size when it is available, otherwise they choose from the sizes on hand.
What do players wear? Do we keep the pinnies?
+
Each registered player receives an official Suncoast 3 on 3 event T-shirt to keep. Colors are assigned by division. During games, the designated away team wears Suncoast-provided pinnies so opponents are easy to distinguish. Each team is assigned its own set for the event and returns it when finished.
Are discounted hotels available?
+
Yes. Suncoast 3-on-3 has partnered with Lee County Sports Housing to offer discounted hotel options. View current accommodations through our event hotel link, or call 239-541-1800 during their weekday business hours. Hotel reservations are optional and separate from tournament registration.
